Dozens of dogs left stranded in Houston by Hurricane Harvey are looking to find a home in the GTA.
The evacuees arrived at the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society in Newmarket on Monday morning.
They were brought in by Toronto-based dog rescue Redemption Dogs, a not-for-profit that helps animal shelters in the aftermath of natural disasters
“Eight volunteers made the drive to Texas and will transfer approximately 35 to Ontario to assist Houston-based shelters struggling to care for dogs that had been waiting to be adopted prior to the decimation caused by the hurricane,” the Ontario SPCA said in a statement.
