BRAMPTON – The OSPCA is investigating a case of animal cruelty after a Beagle-type dog was discovered confined in a Brampton backyard frail and weak.

On Nov. 11, Brampton Animal Services responded to a report of a dog in a backyard on Hearthstone Court, in the Dixie Road and Howden Boulevard area, the OSPCA says.
Officers discovered a small Beagle-type dog, approximately two years old, that appeared frail and weak.
According to the OSPCA, the dog had an elastic band tied tightly around his testicles.
The dog underwent emergency surgery.
Now known as “Otis,” the dog was successfully treated, and was transported to the OSPCA where he remains and is doing well.
When ready, Otis will be placed up for adoption.
An investigation is ongoing.
